Lucy Corkhill is a freelance journalist and author. She worked for ten years as sub-editor and health writer for the UK’s number one green lifestyle magazine, The Green Parent, and for the last three years wrote their weekly web content.
She has studied nutrition and is a trained holistic therapist specialising in reflexology and aromatherapy. Although she no longer practises, she felt privileged to support pregnant, birthing and post-natal women and their families for over a decade.
The sea has been the backdrop to many of life’s adventures and she once lived on a magical 90 year old wooden cruising yacht called Whimbrel. Alongside her husband, she feels dreamily lucky to have lived for 3 years at one of the iconic coastguard cottages at Cuckmere Haven, which she ran as an arts and workshop venue, and as a film location for clientele as diverse as Daniel Radcliffe to Ellie Goulding and Nick Cave.
The first short story Lucy sent out into the world was selected out of over 1000 entries as one of the five winning stories of the 2015 Bath Short Story Award – Lucy won the Acorn Award. You can buy the anthology here. A novel, Unmasked, is currently a work in progress – whet your appetite with an excerpt here.
Lucy also runs an illustration business, Sea Shanties and Sausages.
She lives in her beloved East Sussex countryside with her husband, their adopted son, a cat and a dog.
