Lucy Corkhill – Home

I’m a freelance copywriter, journalist, author and creative writing tutor. For the past six years, I’ve been part of the small but perfectly formed team at Minty Ink. Together, we craft copy, create content and develop concepts for a wide range of international wellness and hospitality clients.

Prior to this, I worked for ten years as sub-editor and health writer for the UK’s number one green lifestyle magazine, The Green Parent, and for the last three years of working for them I wrote their weekly web content.

After gaining a BA in English Literature from the University of Sussex, I went on to study Creative Writing through the university’s CCE programme and then Advanced Creative Writing with Susannah Waters at New Writing South. I’m also a trained holistic therapist, specialising in reflexology and aromatherapy. Although I’m not currently practising, I was privileged to support pregnant, birthing and post-natal women and their families for over a decade. I’ve since trained as a Kundalini yoga teacher (2017) and parenting coach (2024) and continue to write about holistic health.

The sea has been the backdrop to many of life’s adventures and I once lived on a magical 90 year old wooden cruising yacht called Whimbrel. Alongside my partner, I lived for three years at one of the iconic coastguard cottages at Cuckmere Haven, which we ran as an arts and workshop venue, and as a film location for clientele as diverse as Daniel Radcliffe to Ellie Goulding and Nick Cave.

The first short story I sent out into the world was selected out of over 1000 entries as one of the five winning stories of the 2015 Bath Short Story Award – I was delighted to win the Acorn Award. You can buy the anthology here. A novel, Unmasked, is currently a work in progress – you can read an excerpt here.

I used to teach two writing courses, Creative Writing and Words and Wonder, at Brighton’s arts and well-being centre, Evolution Arts. You can find out more here.

I live in East Sussex with my husband, our son and daughter, a cat and a dog.
